Hi all! My name is Adieb, a 22-year-old student of Industrial Engineering and Management. The previous year I had already been in the UC, so I know what we as students can achieve there, and hence why there was no hesitation within me to put myself up for election for another year. The University Council is the perfect place for us as students to voice our opinions on matters that involve everyone here at the UT. From smaller matters to the biggest policies, I’ve seen them all in just one year, and I’ve tried to represent as many people as possible the best I could, and want to do that even better in the upcoming year.
I believe that studying is indeed more than just getting a degree. We’re all students, hopefully at the pinnacle of life. Some of us move out, start living with people of our age, leave their country of origin, others stay at home and have to find a way to combine studying (in another city) with everything they have in their hometown. People start to discover new things, but also have to figure out how daily tasks work. All of this is part of the life of a student, and part of our development. I believe that this is just a tiny fraction of how students can develop themselves. Everything student life has to offer is all meant for us, not just to enjoy, but to grow as a person. And I fully stand behind the ideology that we as students need to have the opportunity to grow and learn, outside of our studies as well. And that’s exactly what we as DAS are committed to, providing everyone the opportunity to grow, even outside of their education!
