Hello! My name is Luka van Houte, I am 22 years old and a student of Advanced Technology. I believe that student life is about much more than just studying. Student life looks different for everyone, and it is important that everyone has the freedom to shape their own student experience in the way that suits them best.
Personally, I have chosen to be actively involved in student life alongside my studies. Through my student association, I have not only made many friends but have also had the opportunity to develop myself further. In addition, I have been active in various committees, completed a part-time board year at Integrand, and became involved in the Faculty Council of Science & Technology through DAS. These experiences have taught me a great deal and have been at least as valuable to me as the knowledge I have gained during my studies.
At the same time, I realize that not everyone spends their student years in the same way. What is valuable for one person may not be valuable for another. That is why I believe it is important for the university to provide space for different ambitions, interests, and ways of personal development. I want to contribute to a strong and inclusive university community, where everyone has the opportunity to make the most of their time as a student.
